Q&A With The New
Mrs. Plus America!
| MPA |
What made
you enter MPA? |
| Lori |
I entered
MPA because I love pageantry and I have heard from my fair share
of judges that if I lost weight that I would have a better shot
at winning. I knew that in Dallas I would be judged on what I
have done and what I plan to do in the future and not my size.
|
| MPA |
How did
you feel as you were traveling to the pageant? |
| Lori |
On the way
to the pageant I was so excited to get to Dallas and meet the
lovely ladies that I would be sharing my week with. I was ready
to meet the personalities behind the faces I had admired on the
website. |
| MPA |
What was
your favorite part of the orientation? |
| Lori |
I would
have to say that listening to the contestants as they introduced
themselves and spoke about their platforms. To be in a room with
that many passionate and dedicated women was amazing. |
| MPA |
Tell us
about the new friends you made. |
| Lori |
Every woman
there impacted my life in some way. I just hope that I had a
small impact on my new friends at MPA. I met some of the most
amazing women. Everyone was so supportive and friendly. I have
never been in the presents of so many true Divas. |
| MPA |
What was
the toughest part of the competition? |
| Lori |
I feel that
the interview was the most difficult part of the competition due
to my nerves. However I felt that my interview became stronger
as I answered the judge’s questions. |
| MPA |
What was
the most difficult question to answer in interview? |
| Lori |
None of my
questions were that difficult. I was truly prepared and the
judges asked questions that I had strong beliefs in and definite
convictions about. |
| MPA |
How did
you feel during the opening number? |
| Lori |
I was a
little nervous about the night starting but I love to dance so
being on stage was very exciting. |
| MPA |
What was
the mood back-stage? |
| Lori |
It was a
very helpful and caring mood. Everyone was there to help out
with zippers, hooks, earrings, and even shoes. The words of
encouragement were very comforting. When I completed my final
question many of my new friends came over to praise my answer.
That made me feel like I had met the goal I had set for myself.
|
| MPA |
What was it like knowing that
Zoo Productions was filming you? |
| Lori |
I did not pay a whole lot of
attention to the filming crew. I went to Dallas with a goal. So
I put the filming crew out of my mind and focused on what it
would take for me to meet that goal. |
| MPA |
What was the first thing that went through
your mind when you heard your name called? |
| Lori |
Words
cannot describe that feeling. I was so shocked. I could not stop
shaking. Hearing the words, "Our new Mrs. Plus America is Lori
Adams" were words I had only dreamed of before. So now I know
dreams do come true. |
| MPA |
Describe
your crowning moment. |
| Lori |
My crowning
moment was one of amazement. I was so excited and full of joy. I
wish that my family could have been there to share it with me. I
know I cried like a big baby and I will have the ugly cry
pictures but that's okay. I am just thankful for the experience. |
| MPA |
What went through
your mind when you heard that you may have a chance to play for
$ ONE MILLION on “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader”? |
| Lori |
Wow what
wonderful opportunity for one of the queens. After winning my
title, I realized that my husband and I were set for our
retirement. At that point I was hoping that one of the other
queens would be chosen. In the end I opted out of the chance
because I wanted someone who may need the money more than I to
have their opportunity for financial security. |
| MPA |
What
plans do you have for your year's reign? |
| Lori |
I plan to
make as many appearances as possible. I want to promote MPA
because they embrace the whole women. My goal as Mrs. Plus
America is to dedicate this year to make a positive impact on
every person I meet. I want to make society realize that any
person no matter their age, size, gender, race or nationality
can achieve great things, if people would stop looking at the
package in which they dwell and get to know the heart and soul
of that person and what they stand for. |
| MPA |
How do
you plan to promote your platform? |
| Lori |
I plan to
continue to donate, participate, volunteer and advocate for
cancer related charities. I will continue to study about the
diseases of cancer so that I can better educate and inform
others of the causes I represent in my platform. Knowing the
extreme cost of running the hospital, I would love to get a
national collection drive started for the children and families
at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. |
| MPA |
What
advice would you give to anyone looking to enter the Miss Plus
America pageant? |
| Lori |
I would say
to be prepared to learn from others and be willing to share your
experiences with them. Be confident, genuine, and most
importantly be yourself. Ask for help if you feel you need some
clarifying of the stages of the competition. Be prepared for an
amazing week. Be proud of who you are and come to MPA to
celebrate your accomplishments. The key to success is to be
proud of who you are as a full figured women. |

July Diary Entry
After coming
out second runner up at the Louisiana MPA pageant, I thought this is
not my year to find out about the amazing MPA pageant, which I had
heard so much about. A few months after the pageant, I received a
phone call from the state director. She told me about the sad news
of the state winner, Erin and informed me that the first runner up
would not be able to attend the national pageant on such short
notice. She asked if I would be able to go to Dallas for the
National pageant. I answered her with an excited yes and was
immediately informed as to what I had to do to get my paperwork and
program ad together. I received an email within the hour from the
national director, Melissa, giving me all the information needed to
complete the contestant package. I was so overwhelmed by all of the
excitement and the duties ahead of me, that I could not even think
straight.
The national
director and other contestants welcomed me with open arms, on the
MPA delegate forum. They were so helpful and loving that it made
the whole madness of getting my packet together in a matter of a few
days so much easier. I can truly say that MPA is a loving family.
I went to the
Dallas full of excitement and nerves. I had the honor of rooming
with the Miss Louisiana winner, Autumn. She made me feel like I
deserved to be at this pageant and that everything would be fine.
The whole week was filled with wonderful activities and amazing
women. The staff at MPA embraced every woman there, as a part of
their family.
My nerves
really kicked in right before interview. I went into interview with
a positive attitude but a bundle of nerves. As my interview
progressed I relaxed and answered the judge’s questions with strong
convictions about the subject matter they were addressing. After
interview I got to enjoy the other group of ladies, compete in
prelims. These ladies looked marvelous.
The next day
when it was my turn to compete in prelims, I was very relaxed. I
love to compete and this part of the competition is where I am the
most comfortable. I had the best time in the dressing room with the
ladies in my group. Everyone was so helpful and caring about the
other contestants, true sisterhood.
On finals
night, I just a little nervous about making the top five in my
division and the on stage question that would come along if I made
it to the top five. When I was called out as the Community Service
Award winner, I was very shocked. I did not expect this great honor
to be awarded to me, since I was in the presence of some of the most
amazing woman I had every meet. When my name was called out for the
top five I was so excited. I was ready to compete in pant wear and
evening gown again; I love this phase of completion. Yet that meant
that the on stage question would come along with this top five
honor. Then I stopped to think about all the preparation that I had
gone through and knew I was ready to handle anything. Upon the
awards ceremony for my division I just kept a positive outlook as to
what the results would be. AS they started to call out the runners
up, I was starting to get really nervous. When it got down to just
the top two I was so nervous I could not even think straight. I
remember talking to the other contestant, Kimberly, as I held her
hands but don’t remember a thing that I told her. When they called
her name out as first runner up, my knees began to shake and the
tears started to flow. As you can tell in my crowning pictures, I
cried like a big baby.
I
just want everyone to know that you should never give up on your
dreams because look what happened to me. I am now living a dream
come true.
My first official appearance as Mrs.
Plus America was in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida at the Emerald Coast
Bowling Tournament, the weekend of July 18th. I had a
great time spreading the word about MPA. Most of the people that I
talked to were excited to know that there was a pageant where plus
sized women could compete and make a difference in their communities
and society. The other bowlers where surprised that a beauty queen
loved bowling as much as I do. I bowled in the tournament for two
days and had a great time sharing with the other bowlers about my
experience at the MPA pageant in Dallas. This experience in Ft.
Walton Beach is one that I will cherish in my heart, since it was my
first appearance as Mrs. Plus America.
My next official appearance was in Vicksburg,
Mississippi on July 26, where I attended the America’s US National
Pageant. I had the joy of spending the day with the contestants.
The contestants welcomed me with open arms and we shared some
amazing stories and experiences. I was honored at the pageant as a
visiting queen. I am pictured in the photos with the contestants
during the day at rehearsals and with the newly crowned winners of
the America’s US National winners. I want to congratulate the
winners: Danielle Cassady
(Teen), Allison Brigance (Miss), Lindsay Case (Mrs.), Chauna
Howard (Ms. Classic), Edith Beeson (Ms. Elegant), Alonna Smith (Ms.
Elite), Buckie Thomas (Mr.) and wish
them the best of luck during their year.

August Diary Entry
I started August out in
the city of Rayne, Louisiana at the Miss Rayne Pageant. The city
of Rayne is very proud of their queens. The pageant was very
pleasant and well organized. The pageant was held on August 2nd. I
got to see lots of friends and everyone was excited to see my new
crown and they were full of congrats for me. The pageant was won
by Angelle Hollingsworth.
On August 16th I was back
in Rayne, Louisiana for the Ms. Frog pageant. Their were 6
contestants that competed for this wonderful title. The pageant
was won by Ms. Summer Parker. The Frog Association held a
wonderful tea before the pageant to honor their out going Ms. Frog
Tessa Dischler. As I travel around as Mrs. Plus America it is
wonderful to meet new people and share my experience at the MPA
pageant. Being able to share my wonderful story with everyone is
very exciting.
The month goes on and my
travels continue. I head south to the small town of Chackbay, LA
for the Louisiana Gumbo Festival Pageant. This festival is a
fundraising festival for the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Dept. Eight
beautiful young ladies competed in the Miss division, six young
teens competed in the Teen division, and 5 lovely women competed
for the Ms. title. The 2008 royalty will reign over this years
festival to be held the weekend of October 17th. The new queens
are Andrea Grainer (Miss), Sarah Zerangue (Teen), and Carrie
Gagliano (Ms.).
My last weekend in August
was spent in the city of St. Martinville at the Okra Festival
pageant. I went to do hair and make-up for a friend of mine that
was competing in the women division. During the introduction of
the visiting royalty I had a mishap as I came off the stage. The
heel of my shoe got caught in the paper on the steps of the stage
and I fell down the steps and on to the floor, but as a true
queen I did not lose my crown. The lady on the festival board
were very helpful in getting my swollen foot taken care of and the
took great care of me through out the pageant. This years queens
are: Tanaya Yidin (Miss), Cheksea Veronie (Teen), Susan Dore
(Ms.), and Liz Landry (Women). Oh yeah, my friend that I did hair
and make-up for did win. My foot is all healed now and I am going
to try not to repeat this event again during my travels.
Until next month I hope all is
well with everyone.

September Diary Entry
September started out with me having to
evacuate for hurricane Gustav. But when life hands you lemons you
need to make lemonade. While I was in Arkansas I make two
appearances. On September 2nd, I helped the local radio station KLAZ
105.9 and the Hot Springs Smoothie King, deliver 150 samples of
smoothie's to the evacuation center in Hot Springs. Many of the
people there were so excited to see a queen. I talked with many of
them. They were amazed that I was an evacuee also. I am pictured
with the DJ's Big Daddy and Heidi. Then a few days later on the
5th, I went to Lakeside High School and talked with a group of
students about being a teacher. They were having people from
different careers come and talk to the students. I also talked with
them about MPA and my platform. The students were very polite and
had lots of questions. They sent me a thank you card that made me
smile when I received it in the mail. The students and I took a
picture together before I left.
On the morning of the 20th of September I was
honored with judging the Baby Okra Pageant, held in St. Martinville,
LA. The little ones were so cute. It was a hard job because they
all were so cute. I am pictured with the other two judges, Chancie
Gravouilla and Mrs. Liz Landry, Ms. Women Okra. The Mayor of St.
Martinville was on hand that day to crown all the new royalty.
In the evening of the 20th I attended the 60th
Cattle Festival Pageant in Abbeville, LA. A dear friend of mine,
Kristen Hoover, competed and won the Miss Division. I am so excited
for her. She is going to make an awesome Cattle Queen. Another
lady that I know, Karen Guilbeau, won the Ms. Division. The Cattle
Festival is a long tome tradition down in south Louisiana.
The Sugarcane Festival happens the last full
weekend in September. This year my hometown of New Iberia, LA
celebrated the 67th annual Sugarcane Festival. I attended the Queen
Sugar Pageant on Saturday night the 27th of September. Eight lovely
ladies competed for the title of Queen Sugar the 67th. Chelsea
Troxler was the lucky lady that captured the title. I met up with a
dear friend of mine, Elizabeth Minville, at Queen Sugar. She
captured the title of Mrs. Louisiana America in July. On Sunday the
28th I was an honored guest at the Sugarcane Festival Parade.
September started out rough but ended with a
sweet treat at the Sugarcane Festival.
I
am looking forward to October!

October Diary Entry
On October 5th, I was one of the
judges for the Fleur de Lis Festival children's pageant, in
Garyville, LA. All the contestants looked so beautiful that
day. This made my job of judging quite hard. I am pictured with
the older group of queens from that day.
On Oct. 11th, I held my Beauties of
Iberia and Mrs. Iberia pageant. The turn out was low but we did
raise some money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I am
pictured with the out going senior queens. Amanda Toja, Sarah
Libersat, and Marsha Thibodeaux.
My last appearance for
the month was to the Teen & Miss Louisiana USA preliminaries on
Friday, October 31. The Pageant was held at the Heymann
Performing Arts Center in Lafayette, LA. The finals were on the
Saturday night but unfortunately I was unable to attend the
finals. This years winners are Brittany Guidry for Teen and Lacey
Minchew for Miss. I am pictured with Alexandra Lewis, this years
first runner up and Michelle Berthelot Miss Louisiana USA 2007.
In November I will be
traveling to Memphis, TN. I will be making my yearly trip to St.
Jude. I can't wait to share this with everyone next month.
Love,

November Diary Entry
November 8th - Cracklin Festival Pageant
I attended the Cracklin Festival's Pageant in Port Barre,
Louisiana. A friend of mine that I have been traveling with
through out the year, Kasey was giving up her title. I am a
life time resident of Louisiana, so festivals have been a part of
my life since I am a baby. This festival is run by the Port Barre
Lion's Club and it is a fund-raising festival for the club. The
club helps pay for children to go to camp in the summer. The
pageant was lots of fun and I got to see lots of my festival
royalty friends.
November 23, 2008 - Ronald McDonald House -
Memphis, TN
I was privileged to attend the Ronald McDonald House in Memphis,
TN.; this is my third year of having this privilege. This Ronald
McDonald House, houses the families from St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital. I direct two local pageants and Mrs. Billie
Menard directs two local pageants. Our queens fund-raise all year
long and we take this trip to Memphis to bring our donations. We
cooked for the families and had a Mardi Gras party for the
patients. We crowned all the little girls princesses and then we
drew names out of a hat to select our King and Queen. The
families received gifts and the patients each received a goody
bag. We made a cash donation to the house to help out with their
expenses. The children and their families were excited to see all
the queens and we had a great time together. A lot of the
families can't wait to see their pictures on the MPA website.
November 25, 2008 - Target House - Memphis,
TN
We went to Target House on the last day of our trip to bring gift
bags and household items to the families that live at Target
House. Target house is sponsored by Target and this house is the
long term house for St. Jude's patients and their families. We
also made a cash donation to the house to help them out with the
many expenses they have at the house. After we made our donation
we toured the house and all I can say is WOW. It is hard to put
in to words how amazing this house is. I am looking forward to
traveling to Memphis as many times as I can. St. Jude is a part
of my platform and as long as I am able I will support this worthy
cause.
Until next month I wish all a happy holiday
season.

December Diary Entry
This month was
dedicated to charities. December is known for the season of
giving so that is what I did this month. I participated in the
Toys for Tots drive here in my local community. It warms by
heart to know that I helped bring some joy to a child in need
for Christmas. I went shopping and bought food for the Food for
Families Food Net Drive. This will help the local food bank for
2009.
Another project that I
got involved in was the Save Lids to Save Lives campaign. I
recruited some of my friends and co-workers to help me in the
collection of the pink lids from the Yoplait yogurt containers.
After collecting the lids, I mailed them into Yoplait's, Save
Lids to Save Lives, campaign for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Each lid was worth ten cents and Yoplait was going to donate up
to 1.5 million dollars. It brings me joy to know the lids we
collected were put together with many other lids to help in the
continued effort to find a cure.
The one personal
appearance I did this month was for a donation collection that
we held at the Mall of Acadiana in Lafayette, LA on the 20th.
With the help of some of my local sister queens we collected
about $600. We worked in shifts at the table and just asked
people out doing their Christmas shopping to make a donation to
St. Jude's. My sister queens that helped in this collection
were: Lindsay - Miss La Reine de Vermillion, Jenna - Miss La
Reine de Mardi Gras, Carla - Mrs. New Orleans, Kelly - Mrs.
Acadiana, and Victoria - Jr. Miss Acadiana.
While at the mall I had
several women come and talk to me about MPA and how they could
get involved. After talking to them about the wonder MPA family
and the pageant, I gave them my card and told them to get in
touch with me about the Louisiana state pageant that will be
held in the beginning of April. Another women came up to me and
asked to hug me and while she hugged me she told me thank
goodness for real women. This brought a big smile to my face and
gave her great joy to know that this pageant system is out
there. Woo Hoo for MPA.
I want to wish everyone a joyous 2009.

January 2009 Diary Entry
Wow, it is hard to believe that
January is already come and gone. 2009 is just moving right
along
January 10, 2009 - Miss City of Pineville Pageant
I
had the honor and privilege of judging a Miss America
Organization prelim for the City of Pineville. We judged
the young ladies in four categories: Interview, On-stage
Question, Talent and Evening Gown. Believe me when I say
this was not an easy task. All the girls worked really hard
for this competition. The winners from this pageant will
go to the Louisiana state pageants and then it is off to
Nationals for the state winners. They had the chance to
crown two winners in the Miss division due to the large turn
out for the pageant.
Miss City of Pineville – Whitney Mixon
Miss Spirit of Pineville – Katie Cook
Pineville’s Outstanding Teen - RaShada Abraham
January 18,
2009 - Miss Belle Chasse Pageant
I traveled to the New Orleans area to judge the Miss Belle
Chasse Pageant.
I judged this pageant along with
Ms. New Orleans, Tammy Mars and Mrs. New Orleans, Carla Smith.
The winners from this pageant will go to the Miss Louisiana
State pageant. The winner of the Plus division, Erin
Littell, will compete at the Miss Louisiana Plus America
pageant in April.
January 24,
2009 - Miss Evangeline Pageant
I
traveled up to the city of Ville Platte for the Miss
Evangeline pageant. I am friends with the director and
was asked to help out by auditing for the pageant. I was more
than happy to help her. The winners from the Teen and
Miss divisions will complete at the Teen and Miss Louisiana
USA pageant in November. The Mrs. winner has her choice
of which Mrs. state pageant she wants to compete in. The
more I travel and spread the word of MPA the better I feel. I
just warms my heart to hear so many women, say that they are
glad to know that a pageant system is out there for real
women. I have been told by many that
I
am their hero. I am not so sure about that but I understand
what they are saying.
I
want to wish everyone an early Happy Valentine's Day.
Since I am a native of New Orleans, I would also like to wish
everyone Happy Mardi Gras!

February Diary Entry
February was a slower month for me. I spent two weeks fighting
off the illnesses that were going around the school where I
work. I am feeling much better and hope that everyone who
reads this diary entry is doing well. I made two
appearances this month and both were in the same day. I started
out bright and early on the morning of the 28th
traveling to Walker, LA to judge a pageant. I judged the
Miss Tri-Parish Pageant held at the Old South Jamboree.
The
kids and young ladies that competed were very well prepared.
This was one of the hardest judging jobs I have ever had to
handle. There were 85 contestants in 11 divisions. The
0-11 month division had 17 babies. Wow, it was really tough.
Miss Tri-Parish was a prelim for Tiny Miss Louisiana.
After
this pageant was completed, I traveled over to the historic town
of Washington, LA, to attend the Washington Catfish Festival
queen’s selection. This was held in the newly constructed
Washington Community Center. Miss Washington Catfish VII
is Brittany Gonsoulin. The Festival will be held in March.
There will be lots of entertainment and great food.
I did
an interview for Solid Women’s Magazine and will be featured in
the Spring issue in March. Go check it out at
www.solidwomensmag.com They have
a small charge of $2.50 to help them keep the magazine running.
If you do not want to pay the money
if you wait till the next issue comes out in June, then you can
view it for free.
Till next month
stay safe and healthy.

March Diary Entry
March 7th
– St. Charles Farm Bureau Pageant
I
attended the St. Charles Farm Bureau Pageant in St. Rose, LA.
They contestants competed in Interview, Evening Gown and On
Stage Question. They also had a talent competition. The people
in the talent part may or may not have been in the pageant part
of the competition. The talent part of the evening was very
entertaining. The newly crowned queens are Madeleine Daste –
Teen and Raelyn Cavallo – Miss.
March 15th
– Teen, Miss and Mrs. Lafayette
I
attended the Teen, Miss and Mrs. Lafayette Pageant in Lafayette,
LA. The pageant was held at Angelle Hall on the University of
Louisiana at Lafayette.
The
contestants competed in Interview, Swimsuit, and Evening Gown.
All of the contestants did a great job. I am glad I was not
judging this one. The newly crowned queens are Mc Kenzie Wright
– Teen, Sarah Brooks – Miss, and Olivia Simpson – Mrs. The Teen
and Miss queens will compete at Teen and Miss Louisiana USA in
the fall. The Mrs. queen will compete this summer at the state
pageant.
March 21st
– Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
I
joined the thousands of people that came out to Park San Souci
in downtown Lafayette, LA to raise money for the Susan G. Komen
Breast Cancer Foundation.
I
was a part of a team named the Passionately Pink Divas. The
group of walkers on this Saturday in March broke another record
for the Acadiana Walk. We had over 9,000 walkers participate in
the race this year. The team that I was on surpassed our goal.
I do not know the total amount collected for the walk but I am
sure it was an awesome amount.
I
will be crowning my state successor on April 5th.
So
till next time keep safe and keep smiling.

April
Diary Entry
April 4th and 5th
– Kenner, La – Landmark Hotel
The
month of April started off with the Louisiana Miss Plus America
Pageant. The contestants came out the Saturday evening for
orientation. They were treated to pizza and cake. They got to
mingle and get to know one another. Autumn (Miss Louisiana Plus
America 2008) and I were there to help answer any and all
questions that they had about the pageant. They were very
excited to hear about the national pageant that we went to last
summer in Dallas, TX.
At
nationals last year Autumn and I decorated our door. So this
year Mrs. Shelly asked the contestant to decorate their hotel
doors. At midnight we went out and about in the hotel to judge
the contestants doors. Mrs. Bobbie Watts won the door
decorating contest.
Sunday morning, the contestants met Autumn and I down stairs for
their interviews. The ladies each had a 5 minute panel
interview with the judges. The judges also judged the portfolio
and photogenic part of the pageant at this time too. The ladies
went to change after their interviews and reported to the
ballroom for rehearsal. Autumn and I help the girls with
modeling and answered any questions that had come up since
orientation. Mrs. Shelly went over the opening number with all
of the contestant and the outgoing royalty. After rehearsal the
ladies were off to get some rest. Many of the ladies had hair
and make up appointments to complete the process for the
pageant.
The
pageant went well and Autumn and I
gave our farewell speeches with tear filled eyes. It is a sad
but happy feeling when farewell speeches are given.
Sad
to see the year end but happy for the new queens and to see what
life has in store for you next.
All of the ladies the competed did
a wonderful job. At the end of the evening three new Louisiana
Miss Plus America queens were crowned. The 2009 Louisiana
queens are Andrea McKnight - Miss Louisiana
Plus America, Angela Perkins - Ms Louisiana Plus America,
and Bobbie Watts - Mrs. Louisiana Plus America.
April 19th - LaRose Family Fun Fest Pageant
I
attended the LaRose Family Fun Fest Pageant. This pageant and
several other pageants held in LaRose at the Civic Center, crown
their queens to reign over the festivals that help to raise the
funds to run and support the LaRose Civic Center for the year.
The Civic Center is for the community to use during the year and
they are only charged $10 for the services at the center because
all other money is raised by the festivals that the center has
during the year. This is a close knit community and the center
is well taken care of.
April 25th - Louisiana Crawfish Festival Pageant -
Chalmette, LA
I
traveled to St. Bernard parish to judge the Louisiana Crawfish
Festival pageant. The young ladies that competed for the titles
of Miss Louisiana Crawfish had to go through a 5 minute per
judge round robin interview. The Teen contestant did a 5 minute
panel interview so that she could get the feel of an
interview. The young ladies in the Miss division did not make
the judges job an easy one. The winners from this pageant will
go on to compete in a state pageant later in the year. I had a
great time and totally enjoyed the pageant. I have to say that
this was one of the hardest pageant I had judged in a while.
April 26th - Miss, Ms. and Mrs. Acadiana - New Iberia,
La
I direct two local pageant a
year. My queens help with the fundraising that I do for St.
Jude Children's Research Hospital. I am proud to say that the
new queens that I just had crowned are off to a great start on
the fund raising. The ladies and I, along with some other
queens will be going to the hospital this summer to take up the
money and items collected. We will also cook for the families
and patients while we are in Memphis, TN.
I know my reign is almost over and
I have these mixed feeling. I am sad for the year to end but
excited to see what life has in store for me next. I will be
back at the end of May to fill you in on my travels.
Stay safe and healthy,
Lori Adams - Mrs. Plus America
