October Diary
Entry
Hello
pageant family!!!
I was in
LA the weekend of October 20th to help our Lifetime Queen
Chenese Lewis celebrate the LA launch of the Flawless Calendar and
support her for the Love Your Body Day event. I love events like
this to recruit future queens. I had the great honor of meeting many
plus size models and the talented Mia Tyler and her friends. I had
the pleasure of sharing my weekend with Bailey who was Miss Virginia
2007. She is such a gem. Several of our other pageant sisters were
going to attend but Murphy’s Law set in that weekend for most of
them. I missed them.
Saturday
night we attended the calendar launch. I was in the land of Amazon
queens. Chenese’s mom and aunt were there and it was great to see
them again. We took lots of pictures and met people from all parts
of the modeling industry from photographers to editors of magazines
such as Scorch and Model Plus. Chenese was one of the most beautiful
people there if I do say so myself.
Sunday
was the main event. Love Your Body Day in West Hollywood, CA. It was
so much fun. Almost everyone who was there at the calendar launch
was at this event and then some. The attendance was 400+. IT was a
huge success with moments of standing room only especially for the
fashion show. We had an opportunity to meet all different women at
this event. We handed out a flyer with the lovely Miss Plus America
Elite -Jenna’s beautiful picture on it. I had an opportunity to meet
the wonderful Tommy from Fashion Overdose and he and I got to have
our own photo shoot in from on the Scorch magazine banner. He is
such a blast.
Next year
should be more fun as well. I hope we can have more MPA queens there
as well. I am off for my next adventure. God bless all the MPA
family for the holiday’s.
